is it normal for a guy to have a 26" waist

I have a very weird shaped body having a 26" waist with all my extra weight in my upper body. My calves measure 20.5" , 19.25" thighs and 26" waist is weird. I have to buy kids jeans that have to be taken out in the calf area to fit me.
Does anyone have a problem like this?

  • Everyones different but that is a tiny waist. Especially since there is only a 5.5" difference in your calves and waist. My waist is 32" with 12" calves, 20" difference.

Normal is just another word for boring. I say pray for bell-bottoms to come back and in the meantime be glad you don't have a big ole beer belly!

Editing to add that I used to work for a guy who had a very narrow waist and zero (and I do mean ZERO) butt. Seemed like a basic, skinny guy. But then when the warm weather rolled around and he wore shorts, I learned that he had monster calves! Quite out of proportion with the rest of him, but not unattractive. They were actually very nice, strong, monster calves -- much like yours. He used to wear Diesel jeans a lot, if memory serves me. Straight leg.

    Just sayin'.

You should see a physician about scanning your legs. You appear to have a very localized form of edema. If you apply pressure to your calves do they "dent"?

Where do you buy jeans? My son is 45 and has always worn a 28" waist when it comes to pants. He is not a shopper so every Christmas I buy him the Levi 503's that are the only thing he will wear. It is a search!!! I don't know if actual waist size is the same as pant size but given the trouble I have already, I sure wouldn't want to be looking for a 26.

I usually buy jeans at jc penny in kids sizes.

Do you happen to know if Levi 503's come in kid's sizes?
BTW How tall are you? or what is your pant length? I think that would be a factor if you are heading into kid sizes.

American Eagle has men's size 26 jeans. They have straight leg jeans so they'd probably be roomier in the calf area.

lol 29" was a mistake , 3 inches a week would be something
  • That's not normal for a guy to have that small a waist and calves bigger than your thigh. But those calves are beautiful
