I see a new class i starting up where I do Tai Chi and Jhoom.
It is a kettlebell bootcamp, Thursday evenings for 1 1/2 hours. I am still overweight, not the fittest person in the world and haven't done anything like this. Shoud I join, could I manage, what would be involved? Advise please folks

I love kettlebells so I would go for it in a second - Most likely you would do a bunch of swings and some other movements with the KB. People that are more fit will use heavier KBs so it should be easy to scale down to your ability.
Just make sure the instructor is trained/certified in teach others to use KBs0 -
GO! FUN!0

Kettlebells are my favourite kind of resistance training! I have been using one at home, but I'm trying my first class on Friday, so let us know how it goes! Oh, and start a bit lighter than you think you can use, it gets a while to get used to the action, and your hamstrings will kill you after your first time doing swings!0

Got to do it! Great work out! You will be crazy sore but after 3/4 weeks it goes away! Fun and effective! X0

I am a huge Kettlebell fan. I've been doing classes and gym workouts for about 18 months and have progressed from using a 4kg to an 8kg. It is a total body workout comprising cardio and strength training and great for fat burning. It is also suitable for all levels of fitness. If you've never done it before then start with a 2kg and progress upwards - it wont take long before you are swinging a 4kg around! Enjoy!!0

Go for it. I would love to see a kettlebell class offered at the YMCA. I would certainly attend.0

Thank you folks, I think I will join - it doesn't start until early March so I have time to get nervous0
