Hey Breastfeeders! Just wondering how you all are allowing for extra calories for breastfeeding? I did some googling, and landed on 300 extra calories for someone my height and weight (5' 3", 155lbs). What do you guys use?

IMO you should think more about getting enough fluids and nutrients when you're breastfeeding. If you don't go crazy with your food and think about what you're eating as nutrition for your little one then (in my experience) tend to eat more healthily anyway. Most midwives told me to listen to my body and if i'm hungry, then eat, but try to make healthy choices. I also had a MASSIVE cup of tea every time I sat down to bf!
You'll start to lose some baby weight naturally and then you can go at it in a more hardcore way when you've given up breastfeeding.
Okay so I'm not that helpful, sorry! Good luck and congratulations!!!0 -
I lost 22kg with both kids (EXACTLY 22kg!) from breastfeeding alone. Have a big protein diet and eat lots so you have lots of milk. Enjoy!! Enjoy!! Enjoy!! Best days of my life!!
All I did was walking, drinking lots of water and eating lots. Oh and I breastfed on demand. From what I've heard only the first 6-12 months of breastfeeding will really see you shedding weight, it didn't make a huge difference beyond 8 months for me.0 -
I added 500 exclusively and 300 when she started solids0
