HOT SAUCE and fat burning foods

I am officially addicted to hot sauce, I can't eat anything without it!
Luckily though, I heard that it is apparently it is a fat burning food? (don't take my word for it though, i'm not sure)
what exactly is the deal with 'fat burning foods' anyway? are they real or are people lying to me again?
Please tell me what you know about them, i'm interested to hear :)

I think hot sauce is generally an appetite suppressant which is why it has a reputation for "fat burning". Basically, it makes you choose to eat less, which is still a good thing in my book! I will put Franks on just about anything!

If you're interested in doing some online research look up capsaicin, the active ingredient in hot peppers that gives them the heat. As far as I know it is supposed to suppress the appetite but I don't think it's been proven to aid in weight loss beyond that.

Also note that there is a good chance your favorite hot sauce has a lot of sodium in it. I love hot sauce and can knock out a quarter of a bottle on three tacos but that might be an extra 750 milligrams of sodium on top of whatever was in the tacos.
  • thanks for the advice
