Wanting friends who are TTC

I am starting today to try to lose weight because my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I currently weigh 275 and my goal weight is 170. I am 5'9. Obviously once I get pregnant I'll stop trying to lose weight and do what I need to to have a healthy pregnancy. Any one else with similar plans?

That's my plan. I am 133 right now...want to get down to 115-120 before I try, and then only gain the 20 or so pounds you are supposed to gain for a healthy pregnancy.
  • Trying to lose 20 pounds before getting pregnant, but excited to start a family!

I am pregnant. Just found out last week and am only 5 weeks along. I have been on mfp for 7 months and lost 45 lbs. I was determined to lose weight before getting pregnant again. I am still overweight. I have another 35 lbs to go but am no longer considered obeise, which was my goal before getting pregnant. Still tracking calories and running about 4 miles 5 days a week. Doc said it is fine I am still losing too, as long as I feel good. I am feeling great this time around. This is my 3rd pregnancy. Since I am still overweight my goal is only to gain 15 lbs during this pregnancy. My doc has never been into having a weight gain goal and has never given me a hard time about my weight gain (my first pregnancy I lost track after a 60 lb gain my 2nd pregnancy was better at a 27 lb gain). But, she said I am doing great and to keep up the good work. Good luck to you. If you want to add me as a friend I will be happy to cheer you on. I plan on following mfp through the whole pregnancy.

I think we are in very similar places. I'm 5'8" and about 250lbs (I'm going to weigh and measure myself tomorrow and get on track). My husband and I already have two children and are trying for our third right now. We just had a MC which was devastating but I'm going to keep trying as soon as I get the go ahead from my Dr. I thought trying to lose some of this weight would help because I really don't want to go through anything like that again.

Hi, Hubby and I just started TTC last month. Although I am only wanting to loose a few more kgs, I am super focussed on creating a healthy mum to be body.

There is a fabulous group here that you could join. We are all very respectful, sympathetic and encouraging.

the group is called ttc-for-future-mommies-to-be- just search it and we should pop up.

Wishing you luck (and baby dust) on this very exciting journey :flowerforyou:

    Hi girls!
I'm here to join the club. My husband and I have been TTC since January. He has been ready for a while, I'm still wanting/needing to lose more weight. I am so worried that we will have a hard time getting pregnant. I already have type 2 diabetes and am taking labetalol for hypertension and levothyroxine for hypothyroid. Both are very well controlled with my medication. My doctor doesn't have a problem with my weight and gave me the green light, but deep down I know better. I think I need to lose about 30 pounds.
Has anyone had their progesterone levels checked? I just had mine checked at 8 days PO and my results were a 6.9. Is that low? Is that okay? Any thoughts or feedback would be helpful!
Also anyone else have thyroid issues, but test in normal range? My BBT is consistently low, and I feel cold all the time, and yet I test completely within normal range.

    AND... Go! :)

My husband and I are TTC. Have been for a while now. Doc says I should lose weight first. I lost 25lbs and got pregnant in January, but I miscarried a few weeks ago. So, my goal now is to focus on being healthy so I can feel better about trying again in 3 months. I'm 5'5" 205lbs. Logging food is what works best for me. So I'm back.

My husband and I are TTC also. I am 5'4" and weigh around 235. I know I need to lose weight to have a healthy and comfortable pregnancy so that is what I am doing. I would love to be your friend if you would like to add me. I haven't had the willpower to change my life for myself but being a mom is more important to me than anything. Hopefully that will be the motivation I need to finally get my life together!
  • Hi ladies! I've been trying to conceive for almost 2 years with 3 miscarriages in the past :(. The hubby and I want to give it another try so I'm losing weight before we begin. My goal weight is 180 lbs. maybe even more. Good luck on our journey ladies!!!!!!

My husband and I have been ttc for a couple of years and have a couple of fertility issues. I'm 5'5", 180 lbs so I am on the edge of overweight to obese. We are both working on losing some weight along with taking vitamins and supplements, hoping that this will help with our issues.

my husband and I are also trying to TTC...... had a few issues because I was on birth control and my period were very unregular... now it seems like after 6 months they are starting to get regular so still trying

I am also hoping to lose a few pounds and be healthy so I can only gain the recommended amount of weight when pregnant and not go crazy....

my only thing is that I am afraid of exercising very hard.... I am not sure if I do get pregnant if exercising will be an issue or not because I already do not exercise regular while i am not pregnant... does anyone know?

I too am TTC, But PCOS is making me so irregular, I'm trying the natural way by losing weight to get rid of some of the symptoms of PCOS and hopefully will give me regular cycles. Since I've lost some weight though I've gone from 75 day cycles, to 60 day ones, I can feel progress being made :)

Hi ladies! I'm TTC too! it looks so easy on TV, one little one night stand is all it takes on TV, right? Well, I am finding that it's not that easy!

My husband and I have just started trying last month. I was so hopeful up until the point that Aunt Flo came by over the weekend. I was hoping NOT to see her!

My husband won't let me buy any ovulation kits or anything that could assist in targeting the right day. He says we should just keep trying the old fashioned way for another month and see what happens. I have an app on my phone that helps track my period and ovulation, so maybe that will help. I have been eating as organically as I can afford, and I am doing some light to moderate exercise. I don't have a lot of weight to lose, so I don't want to get too fanatical about exercise and weight loss as I think it could hurt my chances for conceiving. What do you think?
  • Also ttc here. Yesterday we had a consult at a specialist to figure out why we're not having any luck. I'm 5'4" & 160 so I'm looking to drop 20 lbs or so.
  • Hay im new to all this :S but me and my OH is TTC. I've recently taken out my implant and we've are actively trying (sorry if its TMI lol ) im cant wait to start a little family of my own and i know i need to loose some weight so good luck everyone baby dust all round xx
