I am an active 62 yr old woman. I started (or shall I say restarted) working out with a fittness trainer January 2011. As a result, I went from 170 lbs to 145lbs in the space of 9 months. However, last year I have seen my weight climb up to 158 lbs! Working out only 2 days a week just doesn't cut it.
So, I decided I needed a little help - enter MFP. While I've only been at it for 2 days, I find that journaling my food and exercise will get me back on track. My trainer approves and she absolutely kicked my butt yesterday:-) I've started walking the horse trails here where I live with my dog, and I think it will do us both a lot of good. Though sometimes it's hard to keep her moving.
I have a couple of horses, a big dog and 6 laying hens and a veggie garden that keep me occupied on a daily basis. I live in Southern California, so it's a lot easier for me to stay active in the winter then folks who live in the North. Sadly, I am very fond of gourmet cooking and eating.

I'm also interested in fermenting foods (sauerkraut, KImchi etc.) Is there anyone out there with the same interests?
