Calorie Deficit - Help?

I've only been here a few days but I've noticed when I log exercise, it allows me more calories so when I finish tracking it tells me I should be eating my calorie allowance.

Should I just ignore this? I've lost weight before and eaten 1,200 cals a day but MFP is telling me to eat more?

A bit confused. Any advice appreciated.

This is a topic which gets debated endlessley here on MyFitnessPal! If you type "eating exercise calories" into the search box you'll find more advice, comments and opinions than you'll ever be able to read.

Short answer - you'll have to work out whether it suits you or not. How tall are you, what's your current weight, and what's your goal weight?

People will use the analogy of putting fuel into a car in order to fuel your workouts. But your body isn't a car, it has reserves, ie fat, that it can use instead of food.

You'll get loads of advice from the road map... I tried 1200Kcals to lose 2lbs a week, but it didn't/doesn't work for me! I have to eat a portion of my exercise calories. to feel okay and lose weight - and then 1lb per week. You have to work this out over the next few weeks as only you know how best your body works.. The good thing about MFP is there are people with loads of advice / tips /support that 'll keep you going so you can find your way!
