Thought this could be an interesting topic.

Lifters: What is the maximum amount of body weight you have gained but stayed the same size or lost?
OR How many sizes have you went down while staying the same body weight?

Pics are welcome but not needed :)

Edited: to add the word body before everyone starts listing their lifts....but feel free to share that too!

    I may be a 'special snowflake' but I have continually lost weight while losing inches. It could be because I lifted from the start.

    Hmm you have a good point. This is a bad place to post this thread. It would be relevant to only those on a surplus or maintenance which we don't have a whole lot of. But I have seen some stragglers mention it, hopefully I'll catch some.

    Still loosing, but continue to increase the weights im lifting, also could be that I was kind of heavy to begin with, but went from 382 to right now im at 260 (Started in August at 258 with serious lifting) ... As of this week Squat 405, Dead lift 425, Bench 235, and Military Press 155. Which is a 15% higher 1 Rep Max on average for those 4 lifts since my starting 1 Rep Max in August.

    My measurements are the same, but I'm up about five pounds.

    I had a bit of fluff to lose when I started working out again. I lost most of my weight with a combo of cardio and some strength training, but no traditional lifting. I credit the inches lost to the strength training more than the cardio though. I switched to lifting in January and since then I have "only" lost 2 lbs, but lost 1.5 inches around my waist and could probably stand to go down another size. I will see how I do now that I'm eating at TDEE and lifting. I'm guessing I will start to gain LBM, but still stay the same size.

    I started January 2nd 2013 lost five pounds but a heap more in inches.

    Im doing a programme three times a week of very heavy lifting 5x5, 5x4 and 5x5x3x8. The scale has really been pushed to the side while Im lifting it does no favours for me mentally. The tape measure is slowly becoming my friend

    Hmm Since I started lifting last March, I've been eating either at maintenance or 100 cals below ish, kind of trying to find my maintenance actually. But anyways when I started lifting I was ~132 lbs, and I've fluctuated between 129.9 and 135 lbs throughout the past 11 months of lifting. I'm 5'8" But my inches have gone down...

    Waist: 26in --> 24.5 in
    Hips (hip bones not conventional hip measurement): 33in --> 32in
    Thighs: 20.2 --> 21 in
    Arms: 10.2 ---> 11.1 in
    Just below bellybutton (stomach pouch): 29in --> 27.5in
    Just below breasts (rib cage/bra band): 29.5 --> 27.1in
    Over breasts: 34in ---> 31in

    I didn't measure my true hips (like widest part over my butt) until January, and it's 37.5 inches.

    I haven't lost any inches in about 6 months, except my thigh and arm measurements have kept going up, visibly it appears to be from gaining some muscle size. I definitely dont' have more fat in those locations lol.

    I don't think I have many more inches to lose in many locations, except maybe my hips and belly pouch area could get slightly smaller.

    pics or it didn't happen:

    My weight has been around 133 lately. Hope this helps!

    ETA: I'm down to a size 2 or 0 in US sizes of most clothing.. I was a 4 or 2 before. S -> XS. My bra size went from 34C to 32B. 26's in jeans usually.

    Pictures in my profile. I dropped from size 8 to 4 with only about 3 pounds difference. I lost about 3 inches off my waist before dropping any weight.

    I have to take new pics and update my ticker soon. I seem to have gained a few pounds, and I can't find where it is. I'm around 139 now and wearing the same jeans I bought when I hit 125. I don't have any bikini shots at 125, but I have some at 127 I can compare them to.

    I started out at 155 on the day I started lifting. I was a size 11/12 jeans. I went down to a size 1/3 and weighed 125. I went into my building phase and ended up at 148 and I wear a size 3/5 jeans. MUCH BETTER!!! :-) Total time from start to now was 18 months.

    See my before and after in my profile. I've lost about 3 inches off my waist, maybe even more since I didn't measure myself until several months in. I weigh 148 in both pictures. I'm a huge fan of using the tape measure instead of the scale now too.

    I decided to eat at a surplus pretty much as soon as I got back into heavy lifting. I gained 10lbs but not very many inches and I still fit much of the same clothing. I was a size 12 at 160lbs, dropped to 150 and a size 6. Now I'm 160 again. Some size 6s still fit, but I'm probably closer to an 8. It depends on the brands really.

    Wow! You look great. What a difference in body shape without you losing a pound. Fantastic
  • I have gained about 7lb over the last 2 months, but my waist is still 32 inches.

    I should have measured arms, legs, chest etc before I started ... doh

    I weight train 3 times a week, cardio every day (walking) and try to eat at around about maintenance or just under.

    I have gained weight, maintained, and lost weight all throughout the time I've been lifting (bulking/cutting cycles etc) My size/weight etc is determined a lot more by food than it is by lifting.

    Although, overall my measurements have gone down in that at my starting weight of 150 (had just started lifting again) and the same weight a couple of years on, I was smaller in the latter, because my body comp had changed. I was around 5% less body fat too.

    I've lost 3 inches off of my waist, but added 2 inches onto each upper arm, and maintained my weight EXACTLY (minus daily fluctuations) for 6 weeks now. The unfortunate part is, that weight is 260 :grumble:

    You are welcome! It's a comfort to know this as I've been lifting heavy since January the 2nd with virtually no scale change upwards or downwards so there is hope for me yet hehe.

    I am curious to see how much my body changes and my weight. I always told my husband that a number on the scale was not my actual goal but the difference that is noticable in how my clothes fit and how I appear naked. :happy:

    Until I take new pics...

    fb-cover.jpg

    I started lifting in July of 2011.

    At my goal weight in June 2011 and more recently, at the same weight.

    I think this was about the same weight in both, maybe a couple pounds more in November. February of last year I was lifting using machines, November after 4 months of free weights.
