No Gym Access...

I'm working on burning fat and getting a bit muscular. I know lifting heavy weights in going to be key but I don't always have access to a gym so I can't really lift heavy or as heavy as I want. I'm pretty much limited to body weight exercises and the sets of 3 and 5 pound weights that I currently own. In the future I do plan to get a heavier set of weights maybe 8 or 10 pounds or a set of dial up weights. But with this limitation how much can I really build up my muscles?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I do not go to a gym for many reasons(time, child care, expense, and I live out in the middle of nowhere etc) So, I purchased a rack, bench, and Olympic bar and weights off of craigslist used. It works out in the long run. I don't have much space at home either, just a small garage where I give myself like 7x5 space to lift. 3lb and 5lb are pretty light. You need to go heavier to see results. I suggest looking into Stronglifts 5x5.0

Would I really need and bench and bar? I live in a small flat and pretty much only have the living room for an exercise space but it's also where my SO and I entertain company for the most part. If I just got heavier weights could I get results that way?0

What doe you mean by heavier weights? 8-10 pounds is not heavy, in the grand scheme of things, and you would likely outgrow them quickly. You might look into getting some resistance bands. They take up little space, are relatively inexpensive, and you can get them with pretty heavy resistance. I've read lots of good things about them. But personally, I am a bar, rack and bench girl, you can get some adjustable dumbbells for under $50 which wouldn't be a bad option, either.0

Thanks, I'm very new at this and am sort of planning and learning as I go along and trying to see what all will fit in my portion of a 650 sq ft place. Thanks for the suggestion and note about long term planning, I'll probably go with some form of adjustable dumbbell. How do resistance work as far as adding intensity if I do outgrow those too?0
