Planning meals for the next day

Hey everyone,

I'm brandy new to MFP and would like to dive in head first. I'm a teacher so I'm up early and pack my own lunches. I've been sticking to fruits and granola bars for breakfast, turkey or tuna for lunch, and then I eat with my family at dinner. I figured I could get ahead and plug in items I will already be eating for the next day. Do any of you do that; and if so, have you found it helpful? What do you eat in the morning/lunch that still allows for a treat at the end of the day?

Would love to add some friends considering I am brand new and need some support. I'm a college grad looking to trim the fat before summer gets here!

Thanks for all of your help!

    Welcome to MFP!

If I want to splurge in the evening, I limit my breads/crackers/pastas/etc during the day even more than I usually do.

Anytime I plug in foods for the next day or even the next meal, I always seem to have to change them because I change my mind and eat something else. But besides that, I don't see the problem in doing it that way.

Send you a friend request :)

YES! I always plan a day ahead. I do a protein shake, and 1/2 cup of cereal in the morning. Lunch: sometimes hard boiled eggs, grape tomatoes, nuts....kinda "finger food" stuff. I always try to save at least 150 calories so I can have a skinny cow ice cream sammich at night. That's when the sweet tooth kicks in. I always try to plan my meals around healthy sources of protein. It keeps me from wanting crappy food.

Yup! As much as I can, It's like drafting a blueprint. If I look forward to eating what I've entered the day before, it's actually a little fun :)
