The Beginning

Hello everyone! Today is my first day on My Fitness Pal. I'm not very overweight right now-in fact, loosing the fifteen pounds I'd like to lose will just be a perk to my ultimate goal-tightening up, toning, and getting more fit. As of right now I am a smoker, and have been for seven years. I am getting married this September, and I just want to look beautiful for my future husband (he already thinks I'm beautiful, but, you know...). By the time I'm married I'd like to be a fit non-smoker----I want to breathe properly, and not run out of breath doing simple things. My fiance and I have a goal to hike across the US, seeing all of our National Parks. I cannot do that in the condition I'm in now. So, here goes my first attempt to organize myself into a fitness routine-hopefully just seeing my intake/outtake ratio will help me visualize where I need to go from here.

    Welcome to MFP! I think you'll find the site helpful. Since you want to quit smoking, you might want to add another category to your Food tab and track how many cigarettes you smoke. As that number goes down, it should help motivate you to stick with the program. If you're looking for supportive friends, please feel free to take a look at my profile and add me.
