Ok, so I'm new to this calorie counting thing. I have tried another form of it for months and have hit a plateau. Joining MFP has me thinking that I am not consuming enough calories which would explain my plateau... So if I eat approx 1200 calories a day, and burn 500-1000 calories with exersice, should I make sure I eat those calories burned as well? Or should I still only eat 1200?

If, based on your settings you selected, MFP gave you 1200 calories per day when you started your account, then yes, if you log exercise then you should probably eat at least some of those calories you've "earned" thru exercise. Especially if you're hungry or you chose to try to lose 2# per week.0

Yes Defo you should eat at least half off what you are burning off with exercise.
A wee tip I have found that works for me eat some protein after exercise and drink loads of water.0 -
