Happy birthday to me - 53! (How on earth did that happen? Better decide what I want to do with my life soon....)
Don’t really celebrate birthdays that much but tend to look back over the last year and set targets for next year. Maybe something in this wall of text might inspire or motivate my fellow coffin-dodgers?
Achievements over the last year:
Started at about 14stone 3lbs (199lb) - ended at 12stone 5lbs (173lb). Now the same weight I was in my twenties.
Took responsibility for what I pushed in my cake-hole, spent too many years blaming the guy that wrecked my knee for making me fat. Certainly that episode made me fat but he didn’t make me eat too much for 20 years.
Thrown away the “fat bloke” trousers I’ve worn for 20 years, now wearing the jeans I stored away in my “skinny wardrobe” for a decade or so. My waist is down by 5”.
My resting heart rate now down from 63 to 51.
Strength gained - approx 20 – 25%.
Discovered 5:2 fasting which has helped change my relationship with, and control over, food.
Had the best year for ages with my dodgy back (3 degenerated lumbar discs) due to maintaining strong core and abs.
Targets for this year:
Reduce body fat.
Complete the 100 push-up challenge (currently @ 63).
100 miles in a day cycle in the summer (PB = 80 miles).
Get back to personal benchmarks of bodyweight lifts for lat pull down and bench press (close, but not close enough).
Finally a resolution not a target - keep the weight off.
Good luck to everyone in meeting their objectives.

Happy birthday! I'll be 24 for the second time (do the maths) on saturday and partly this is why I'm here - if I don't lose the weight now I worry it will just get worse and worse and I'll be less and less mobile.
Love the support on here and inspirational stories.0 -

Happy Birthday! We called my Dad "O.F." for years....now that he's gone, I've kinda taken his place at 54 years old. However, that's just my chronological age. I feel young and the best I have for years since shedding so many lbs. (stones, kg).
I wish you the best and may all of us OFs make the best of our years everyday!
Big (well, notso) D0 -

But I like my Avanti jeans from C&A (when did their stores close down?), in fairness my daughter rolls her eyes and mutters something about "the wrong colour blue" when I wear them....0 -
