right advice time people please. Now been thinking last couple of days. Im 11 stone 8 Lbs which is not bad. The problem i have is a beer belly.
i want to lose my belly but gain muscles in my arms and chest. Would it be best to up my calorie in take next month to say 2000 so that i am feeding my muscles and but do more cardio to lose my belly, or stick to 1700 cals to lose the belly first.
I know at the moment still working out my diet and what to eat to reach my goal. But tomorrow i get paid and want to start getting a little more serious with my diet. So before i do my plan for the month i need some advice. I have already got a plan for my workouts.

I'm sort of the same boat as you. I started lifting about two months ago, so I'm no expert, but here's what happened with me. I've been eating at a deficit (TDEE-3500/wk) most of the last two months. I'm doing a full body workout 3 days/wk, 3 sets of 12 reps at about 65% max weight. I'm also doing about 30-35 minutes of cardio after each session. I've seen my belly shrink, my max weights go up in every lift, and my muscles become more defined (I'm not sure if they've really "grown" since I haven't been at it for too long). I've also lost about 4 pounds over that period.0

I'm in a similar situation to you with similar goals. I'm 11st 11lbs eating about 1800 per day doing 5x5 weight lifting. Lost 6 lbs since January mainly of fat from belly. In March I'm going to up calories to 3,000, still got a bit of belly to go, but going to do that for a couple months and just lift heavy.0

I have this problem as well becuase i LOVE beer! The only thing that works for me is to stop drinking beer, and cut out all sugars except for 2 pieces of fruit. booooooooooooooo0

1) Big bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast
2) Peanuts and pistachios are good for protein and slow release energy for the day, plus lots of fruit for complex sugars
3) Sandwich from Tesco full of fat, protein and carbs
4) tins of tuna with mayo on toast for afternoon snack. With more fruit
5) Dinner 300g of meat and a portion of frozen veg
I'll try to keep about 5 meals of 450 calories each then top up with 2 or 3 whey protein shakes.I have this problem as well becuase i LOVE beer! The only thing that works for me is to stop drinking beer, and cut out all sugars except for 2 pieces of fruit. booooooooooooooo0
