My Tastebuds Are Changing!!!

In the past 6 weeks I have had 60 ozs of Coke. Before that I would have had 20-40 ozs a day. The last time I had a Coke it didn't even taste good to me...my tastebuds have changed! Now if they would only learn to LIKE water I'd be in heaven! Have you noticed anything that you use to like not tasting good anymore?

I used to love the Sizzling Apple Pie from Applebee's. I was way under on calories one day and decided to split one with my boyfriend after dinner. It was blah. Later on I just felt sick from eating junk. When I logged the calories later I had to laugh. It's about 1100 calories and I used to eat that whole thing myself!0

I know what you mean. Last week while I was out shopping I needed a snack because I had not eaten lunch and it was late. so I grabbed a diet soda and a package of peanut butter crackers. NOt the best choice and not my fave but it used to do for a snack. Well they tasted like putty in my mouth and left a weird film on my tounge that I never noticed before.
Even at Easter dinner (I gave myself a free day that day ) some of the things I used to LOVE were just "meh" to me. I crave REAL , nutritional, good food now and I like that! I also find that I am having a hard time telling the difference between diet soda and regular. I don't drink diet soda every day ( maybe once a week) I took the kids for a treat and the soda cups were on the table and I am asking if we have mixed up the cups and i have someones regular soda. Must mean we are doing something right!0 -
I do find myself craving different foods -- I used to crave a Twix bar after exercise, but today, for the last 2 miles of my walk I fantasized about eating a peanut butter/sugar free jelly sandwich on whitewheat bread..I can't eat the regular jelly now, too much sugar! And forget about regular soda ...0

I too used to drink coke (alot of it) and have slowly gotten rid of it. Now I am happy to say I have no desire for it and I do LOVE water. Water is all I drink with an exception occasionally will have coke zero. One day (drink) at a time)0

For me it is salt. I have cut most of the processed foods from my diet and today I made stir fry with a low sodium sauce and it only needed a few drops of sauce for flavor where before I would have used 4 tablespoons. I also crave fruits and veggies now. My friend laughed at me the other day because I told her I was craving an orange veggie. lol0

"Tastebud's don't change! They die off... That is why you like more things as you get older." - me0

I know what that's like. I was at the store today and bought some mozzarella sticks from the deli cause I was starving. There were like 5 in the bag. I ate one and they tasted terrible. I threw the rest away. I used to love mozzarella stick, they were like my favorite food. Now as I was eating it I was thinking "Ew this is thick fried dough with cheese in the middle that probably isn't even real cheese."0

Is it disgusting that reading this made me hungry?? I'm a Southern girl, you dip anything in batter and fry it, and I'd eat it! I wish I had the "eww this is kinda gross" epiphany, but no luck, so far.0 -

I grew up in a southern based food family and the man I married was a health freak. I slowly changed to his way of eating on the fried issue but still ate more carbs that the adverage person. That was 30 years ago and even though I am no longer married to him I still don't eat many fried foods. They just don't sound good anymore!0
