Up and then Down?

I eat the same throughout the week and weekend. On the weekends, my meals are sometimes at different times (I try to eat every 3-4 hours, but on the weekends it can be hard with my schedule changing), but I don't usually have full cheat days. On occasion, I'll have a cheat meal, but not a full day. And those are days where I've done extra time in the gym to compensate. I drink 3L a day, and continue that practice on the weekends.
Here's my question, throughout the week, I weigh in pretty consistently, dropping about half a pound by the middle-end of the week, but over the weekend, the scale almost always moves up about a pound sometimes two! By the middle of the week, I still weigh in with a loss from my previous week, but it's like my body weighs in with a loss, gains back two pounds, and then drops three pounds or something. WHAT GIVES?! Anyone else experience this? Any pointers?

Water retention is most likely the culprit, is your sodium intake higher on the weekend? I also find if I weigh in after an exercise day my weight is up a little because my muscles are retaining water for repair.0

Your weight will always fluctuate. I weigh more at the end of the day than I did when I first woke up, but it's not fat. I didn't eat over 3,500 calories to gain a pound in 8 hours. There are many contributing factors as to why weight fluctuates, working out, water intake, water retention, sodium, etc. Google "why does weight fluctuate" and you'll get more reasons.
If it bothers you, I wouldn't weigh everyday. Just stick to once a week on the same day so you don't get discouraged.0 -

I weigh myself during the same time frame every week (Friday after work). That's when I do all of my measurements.0 -
Thanks, everyone! I only record my weight on the same day every week (usually Wednesday or Thursday...whichever one I end up weighing on), but I like to see how certain days effect my weight. I appreciate the responses. I'll keep this all in mind.0
