Insanity Recovery Week

I'm completing week 3 of Insanity, and just looking ahead to the recovery week. How important is it? I keep reading that it's in the second month that you see the biggest results, and I've got a function that I'm going to mid-March that I'd really like to look amazing at. If I follow the schedule and do the recovery week, then I'll have only completed week 1 of month 2. But if I skip/postpone the recovery week... I can get 2 weeks of month 2 in.
Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on how important (or not important) that recovery week is?
Thanks!

Dont let the term "recovery" fool you. It is Shaun T's way of torturing you at a slower rate. My advice, dont skip it.0

Do skip it! Do the program the way it is suppose to be done. Recovery means Burn!0

Don't skip it. It's part of the program and there's a lot of balance and core strengthening exercises in it. And as someone pointed out "recovery" isn't really what it is.
Chances are good that even if you did skip it you're not going to see huge results in two weeks of doing month 2.0 -

This made me both laugh and groan. You're right, I should've known by now that any workout with Shaun T is going to be a difficult one.
Thanks everyone!0 -
Yeah, agree with everyone else, don't skip it! And I actually really enjoyed it and was pretty sad when I had to move on to month 2 (although I LOVE month 2 workouts, don't worry they are longer but I think they are a lot more fun!)0

Yep, Shaun T skipped English class in school..........specifically the day where they defined "recovery".
You might not be breathing as hard, and you might not sweat as much, but you will still get your *kitten* kicked.0
