has anyone ever found this to be true

I am in a challenge group and am doing really intense workouts pushing my body above and beyond the limits. plus drinking a lot of water. I am finding lately after my work outs I am not as hungry as I used to be as far as snacking a lot like I had been. has this been the case with any of you guys?

I am actually the opposite. I workout first thing in the morning and I am starving for breakfast by the time I get to work. When I worked out at night, I wouldn't be hungry immediately after, but if I didn't eat much I would get horrible nausea. The body needs nutrients. Just listen to yours; we are all different.

The harder I go, the longer it is before I feel hungry post-workout. But once I get hungry, I can eat everything in my house.

I have found that, after an intense workout, I may not be as hungry, too. When we are working really hard, blood flow is diverted to the areas that need oxygen the most (brain and muscles) and away from areas that aren't being used at the moment (digestive tract, for one). So that is why I figure I'm not always hungry after. And then, trying to catch up later (especially with a big burn to eat back) can be daunting. I bought a protein powder, because I'm always low on protein anyway, and if I'm down a couple hundred calories or more, I'll mix up a "shake" with skim milk.

It takes away for the hunger to catch up. It eventually does :-)

I find this to be true - and my body never did "adjust".

I have found that after a really intense workout (be it lifting or cardio) I am just NOT hungry. I know the importance of refueling your body immediately afterwards (I'm a certified personal trainer), so I eat an apple and a protein shake immediately aftewards, but I am NEVER hungry.

I don't want to snack, either.

I can tell you that a few hours aftewards I definitely feel that I need to eat. Not that I'm hungry...but that I need fuel.

i work out in the evening, after work, before tea, and sometimes find i am not hungry straight away after.

though if its a really tough workout, the next day i will be STARVING!

Its that way with me also. The days that I work out I'm not as hungry throughout the day then the days that I don't. I also find I drink more water which might help also.

Working out makes me ravenous. It's hard for me to do it and maintain a calorie deficit.

Absolutely. You are not imagining things. A good hard workout will shut down your digestion for awhile. Dont eat if youre not hungry, youll be hungry soon enough! Usually takes me an hour to be ready for food after a good session

Yup...I can drive home from the gym and wonder how the hell I'm going to get some dinner in me because I'm just not that hungry but I know I need the fuel...get home, feed the kids, get 'em baths...couple hours later, I can eat the house.

Just the reverse... the more I exercise, the hungrier I get. At first I could hardly eat as much as the program wanted me to, and now I'm trying like hell to keep from going over my calorie limit, though if I do, I exercise more to burn it off ( hopefully).

Ignoring hunger becomes easier - then you perceive yourself not to be hungry. This is not necessarily a good thing. Ensure you fuel properly.
  • I am the same way. I worked out this morning and it has been 1.5 hours since I finished and I am still not hungry. I cannot even force myself to eat. Usually, the days I work out I can maintain my calories. It is usually the following day on a rest day when I can eat everything in sight. I did it yesterday.

I did eat an apple two hours later for a snack.
