Weight Training for Women- I want to try!

I've been reading alot about the benefits of weight training, and it's something I love to incorporate into what I'm doing. I've never lifted before but downloaded an app (Fitness Buddy) that suggest excercises for different areas, the number of reps for what you're trying to achieve and more. BUT it doesn't have suggestions for "how heavy" I should try to start with. Suggestions?

You have to play around to see. If you can lift the weight for 2-3 sets of 8-10 reps, it's likely too light. If you can do 10 reps for 3 sets, it's definitely too light.0
