Question about post-workout weight gain-- AH!!!

So this may be a stupid question, but here goes anyway.
Since I started MFP, I "lost" a grand total of 2lbs (just about, minus a few oz). I went to the gym last night as I've been doing, and had a really fantastic workout- I added some extra leg and butt exercisis that I haven't been doing (usually I go after work and I'm so wiped from the day that I do my cardio and thats it- squats, arms and tummy I've been doing at home with my own weights).
I get up this morning and weigh myself- I am up a pound since stepping on the scale yesterday at the same time!!! Now I'm all disheveled: I ate exactly what I was supposed to and actually was under my cal intake by like 3 calories and I had this really phenomenal workout (or so I thought). I know I have to increase my cardio, which I will but seriously, what gives??!

When you work out your muscles, you retain water as part of the healing process. It is natural for you to gain a couple pounds or stay at the same weight for a while when you first start working out. You are probably still losing fat but it is masked by the water retention. I wouldn't worry about it.0

It's not real weight gain. Relax. It will go away in a couple of days. Drink plenty of water in the meantime, and watch the sodium.0

Try to weigh the day after a rest day, not the day after lifting.0 -
Muscle weighs more than fat. You will continue to loose.
