What a sweet compliment!

I went out this holiday week and bought a new work wardrobe, thanks to the help of a friend. I'm down from size 18 to size 8 in just under 2 years of hard work at it (and I have at least one more to go - or to tone the arms and upper body flab, such as it may be left).

Anyway, as I was sitting down to work with one of my reading groups in class, a student in the group piped up with, "I don't mean to be rude, Miss X, but you're looking skinnier than you did before the break!"

I jokingly told the girl she had an instant A for this quarter! But really, with teens, that is quite a compliment! It made my day!

Wow! Give that girl extra credit! All jokes aside, you deserve the gold star! Way to go!

If the students saw the entire two years of weight loss, maybe you have served as a healthy example for some of them. They watch teachers, and adults in general, like hawks. This way, they saw something positive. Go Teach! BJB
