I read the book awhile back, and I've just started one with similar concepts called, "How to Have Your Cake and Your Skinny Jeans Too: Stop Binge Eating, Overeating and Dieting For Good Get the Naturally Thin Body You Crave From the Inside Out (Thinside Out) "
ITS REALLY GOOD. It uses studies and science to talk about how dieting and the diet mentality leads to restriction, deprivation, and then binge eating. "bad foods"become like a forbidden fruit. It teaches you how to recognize true, physiological hunger, vs. false/emotional hunger. When you ARe actually hungry, it recommends that you eat what you want. When you don't eat what you actually WANT to eat, you tend to binge on other items instead because you don't feel satisfied.
I feel like this book is the story of my life and struggle with binging, restricting, and dieting. I didn't start my binging and obssession with weight and food until college, when it innocently started as just wanting to lose 5 lbs. And that's how it normally starts. I've already managed to stave off a few false hunger snack attacks today. This also takes away the stress of obssessing over numbers, whether it be macros, calories, or weight on the scale.
I know this is a calorie-counting website, and being allowed to eat what you want is a scary concept. But, if anybody is interested, check it out. I highly recommend it.
