Bodymedia Link Dishes vs Climbing 19 Floors

I just completed 24 hours using the Bodymedia Link and found today that doing the dishes showed more calories burned at a faster rate then when I climbed 19 floors to my office. Also, I woke up this morning and found that I must have been sleep walking because it said I walked ~210 steps in my sleep. To those who use or have used the Bodymedia devices, is this normal/expectable or do I have a defective device? Thanks in advance!

Ive read u have to wear it a few days for it to adjust...I got mine Sunday...Mine has been pretty accurate to what Ive expected I have been burning and have ate...I was losing 2 pds/wk eating what Bodymeadia is telling me to do to lose 2pds/wk.. so I think its pretty accurate.. .... Today is a snow day for me and so far it has showed I havn't burned as much... Use it for a few days.0

I got mine yesterday and wore it to sleep last night. When I woke up this morning I had something like 300 or 400 steps! It even tracked a few steps as I drove to work, not to mention 15 minutes of activity time. I did read on the bodymedia website that sometimes it will track while you drive so it's best to take it off. (how annoying!). When I got to work I was keeping track of it on the app and I "walked" 7 steps just typing an email or getting out of my chair. I then walked about and counted 96 steps and it gave me credit for 106. I moved the band further up on my arm, a little closer to the shoulder than midpoint between elbow and shoulder, and moved it a littler more to the "back" of my arm. It seems to be tracking a little more accurately now. It's still not perfect, off a step or two or three, but it's better than counting 7 steps while I type an email. Curious to see how far I "walk" tonight when I sleep.0

Interesting, I've never had that problem. I got one in January and I have really liked it. I wear it more on the back of my arm, I know in all the pictures (and on BL) they show it on the side (kind of facing away from the body) but after reading the instructions you're supposed to have it more on your tricep. That might affect the movement.
Also I've read that it wasn't intended to be a pedometer, it was just something they thought people would like so it was more of an add on than something the device was created to do. I don't rely to much on it for my step count, but more for the overall calorie burn. I generally sleep with it on and when I get up and plug it in it shows me having taken 100-200 steps which is probably right on depending on how much I was up with the kids the night before.
I would probably try it for a week or so and if you're still having problems call the company, perhaps you have an overly sensitive one, but it may just need some time to adjust the settings to your activity.0
