Hello!
I have done MFP for about 2 years now at first i was okay with eating 1,200 calories and not going over.. now 2 years later i cant do it... i always go over.. i always feel hungry..
are there certain things i can eat which will keep me fuller longer?
i used to be able to say no to junk food now its impossible..
any tips?

Maybe your metabolism is working at a faster pace nowadays,or a thyroid issue. Are you working out a lot?0

i've been on and off with working out..
Thyroid issue.. never had one before..0 -
Hmm it can slowly develop. If nothing else I might get it checked just to be safe.0

Yeah this is true..anything is possible i suppose.
I've gained 12 lbs in the last year and my age isnt helping.. being 28 your metabolism slows down.0 -

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the only reason your metabolism slows with age (after you quit growing) is because you start losing muscle mass. If you want to keep your metabolism high, work on maintaining your muscle mass.0 -
You know that could be true i never ever actually asked WHY it slows down that makes sense..0

well, just poking around a little, if you look at the Katch-McArdle formula to estimate BMR, the only variable it has is lean body mass. It doesn't take into account age or even gender.

Sooo if i weigh 132lbs and im not really "ACTIVE" But im gonna be training to run at least 3-4 times a week how many calories should i be eating with not really active at the moment.0

Perhaps it is time to reconsider how many calories you are eating. 1200 is very low for the vast majority of people. If you don't have a lot to lose (which I have no idea about since your whole profile is closed off) you should probably be shooting for not more than 1 pound per week. If it is under 15 pounds to go .5 pound per week would probably even be better. Also, if you are eating 1200 calories are you eating your exercise calories? If not, you should be.0

I would suggest you try eating more. Maybe even up your calories to just 1400. You will not be so hungry and if you stick to it, you should still be losing weight. I upped my calories bc I was way too hungry at 1200 and even 1300 and I still lost weight even after I upped to 1600 while I was trying to get pregnant. Also I weigh close to what you weigh and am not very active so I really think you should try it.0

2 years later at 1200 calories and you're not at goal?0

This, please! 1200/day for two years??? Oh my gosh!!! I would've lost many, many friends if I tried to do that for that long...0 -
Definitely listen to these good people and follow the links to find your ideal calorie intake. It doesn't sound like 1200 is it. This is GREAT news, you can eat more!0

Sorry i worded that wrong... 2 years ago i was eating 1,200 then i kinda let myself go and gained 12 pounds.. sorry!
i did reach my goal now i'm just discouraged and feel gross... i'm so unsure on how much i should eat anymore.0
