Intermittent fasting?

Anyone do this? I'm reading a lot of conflicting info on it. Some say you eat 500 cals some days and whatever you want other day, but I thought it was eating the first meal of the day at noon or later and eating 2-3 big meals a day. So, what is intermittent fasting?

There are various methods for intermittant fasting....

Personally, I don't eat anything after dinner on Friday nights until Saturday afternoon (about 18 hours) but I haven't been fasting for that long. Plan to increase duration and do it more frequently.0 -

I have been IF'ing for a couple years now... easiest way I have found to get really lean. Takes the stress out of making sure you do not eat too much.

Could also be called "skipping a meal".0

Tried it. For one day. Thought I was going to die and decided it wasn't for me.0

I skip meals all the time. Just get busy and forget to eat.0

I dislike breakfast so it makes it easy for me to do IF. Works well.0

You can do it any way you like. The point is that you have a day or two of very low calories (500-600) split up however you want, and then eat "normally" the rest of the week for a net WEEKLY average of whatever your magic number is. That means you can have a night out or some other higher calorie day without worrying about it.
It's also a good practice to teach yourself that you won't die if you miss a meal. Very good discipline.0
