Honestly I think it depends on your style and what you're looking for... And if you don't know, a great stylist can guide you or give you the push you need to try something adventurous (if that's what you're looking for). I would also recommend checking out some hair boards on pinterest. Personally, I have long, layered hair with the bottom layers dyed mostly pink (pic taken a few months ago).... now I've dyed the pink sections to blue-green again.

Had it done yesterday. Really choppy bob that I can really mess up but can smooth out to look smart if I need it.

Can work in a longer style too.
