Started low carbing last year and in 7 months lost 51 lbs!! The last 3 months I lost nothing so I decided to switch it up a bit and go low cal/low fat. I just started low cal/low fat this week and have already lost 2 lbs. Anyone else switched from low carb? What were your results? Still kinda nervous about adding all the carbs!!

I like to just eat food within my budget and forget all the gimmicks. What are you going to do when you reach goal?0

Well I can say that following these two types of diets has taught me a lot about the effect some foods have on more than just my waist line. I know that I will have to be aware of what and how I eat for the rest of my life. Knowing what I know now I feel like I have made the appropriate changes in my life and will be able to maintain my goal weight WHEN I get there!!!0

I am attempting to switch. It is hard after not putting many starchy foods in my mouth for about 3 months, but I really need to get my fat content down. I will be picky about the carbs I chose to eat because they really effect my energy.0

I've tried to somewhat lower my carb intake over the past months, but I'm by no-means "low carb"
Switching to "low fat" kind of worries me...?
Are you trying to cut all fats, or just cut trans fats? Healthy fats from things like fish, nuts, olive oil, etc, are a very important part of a healthy diet, and they tend to go hand-in-hand with trying to get enough protein.
I liked this article as a pretty fair assessment of fats in your diet: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/fats-and-cholesterol/
Eating fat doesn't make you fat. Eating too many calories (be they carbs, fat, protein, or whatever) makes you fat. My two cents. Good luck!0 -
Low fat is bad. Low carb is fine but not necessary. Fats are necessary.0

It is certainly a big change eating carbs again. I'm trying to add good carbs but at the end of the day when I see my carb intake over 100 I get a bit freaked out. Only been a week for me and so far so good. It's a learning process getting the right balance. Hope I get it soon!! LOL0

Thanks for the information prokomds. I'll check it out. I'm just trying to cut the bad fats. Honestly all I want to do is make smarter choices and eat healthier. I agree eating too much of anything (carb/fat/protein) is unhealthy. Just trying to find a healthy balance and lose some weight doing it. If it were easy everyone would do it right?0
