Netflix it up girl!
also, as far as snacks, depending on what you like: almonds (I am obsessed with Emerald cocoa dusted almonds and if you are calorie counting, they have 100 calorie packs you can buy/) bananas or other fruits, trail mixes, granola bars, greek yogurt, etc!
Leg exercises. Here are some ones i found you can do while laying down: http://healthyliving.azcentral.com/laying-down-leg-exercises-9408.html
hope your surgery goes smoothly and recovery time isn't all that bad for you!0 -
Don't do any exercises for at least a couple of weeks after your surgery. There are two very good reasons for this:
1. You could die from a dislodged blood clot due to increased heart rate. Keep your heart rate under 100 bpm for those 2 weeks.
2. You could dislodge the implants (I've seen this happen to a friend of mine who returned to exercise way too soon after surgery) causing them to slip down to an odd position (or just one moves down).
People have varying degrees of pain tolerance, but I can almost guarantee you that you won't feel like moving at all for at least the first week. When I had mine done, leaning over the toilet to vomit (from the meds, as well as the pain) was almost enough to make me pass out. I've got a pretty high pain tolerance, doing dumb stuff like hitting the gym with broken ribs or going skating with a torn ACL (massive knee injury) without thinking much of it, but the implant surgery seriously kicked my *kitten*. Mine are overs, by the way, which were supposed to be less painful than unders.
Just relax and let your family help you out. You'll be feeling better in no time and you'll have a smoking hot figure to show off at the gym.0 -
Rest up. But if you feel like you can, I'd do some walking. Don't do anything too strenuous. Good luck!0

As far as snacks, single serve bags of microwave popcorn are my fave. It takes a while to finish eating so it keeps you occupied and it is only 100 calories. Its better than something that is finished in a few seconds then you are still bored and want to look for something else.
A bowl of cut up fruit or berries also occupies me for the same reason of it taking more than a few seconds to eat and it is less than 100 calories depending on what fruit you use.0 -
I didn't stop walking when I had mine (little different circumstances, but same basic surgery).
I waited two full weeks. The internal stitches need to be at a point where they can dissolve without you opening up an internal wound and that takes a couple weeks.
Are they going over or under the muscle? This makes a difference as well because of the surgical mesh issues. You need a little added healing time for under the muscle implants.
Eat what you would normally eat. Find other things to do.0 -
Thankyou for all your help!
i think ill start with walking as soon as i can and feel up for it! just so nervous about putting on more weight, more nervous about that than the surgery!
im having unders, so i will be healing for a while after...

Vegetables will be your bet bet for snacks. Cucumber slices, seaweed, baby carrots, celery, etc. If you don't have a PS3 and red dead redemption then get it. You won't be bored,0

I wouldn't hurry, but if you are that concerned about your weight, snack on celery. They take more calories to digest than they provide. Therefore you are "exercising" by eating! What more could you want? lol good luck!0

I had overs back in November and found that I was fine to walk around etc from the op day onwards but wouldn't recommend any exercise other than walking for the first couple of weeks at the very least. Walking and being active will help your recovery, but more vigorous exercise or lifting etc could cause loads of issues.
In terms of snacks, dried apricot is great for helping 'get things moving' after the general anaesthetic!xx0 -
I want to read this thread! If the time off is only 1 week then that makes getting them done sound even more attractive! I thought it would be much longer!0
