Pregnancy 2010 - Week 14

Hello everyone!

For those of you just finding us, this is a group that is trying to be healthier and/or lose weight while:

a) wanting to drop some weight before TTC
b) TTC
c) Pregnant

Wednesdays are our days to weigh in, and we have started having weekly challenges. Anyone have an idea for this weeks challenge?

    I would love to join also. I am planning on TTC early next year at the latest. It all depends on how fast I can get to a healthier weight :)

    Welcome to everyone! The more the merrier! Once the rest of the group checks in, you'll see there are a few ladies who are expecting, some who are trying, and some (like myself) who are trying to shape up and not quite ready to 'try' just yet.

    So for a challenge this week, I'm going to take us back to a previous challenge - water intake. Let's make our daily water goals 5/7 days this week! It's a hard one to stay on top of every day, but it makes a big difference.

    Welcome to all the new girls. It is so fun seeing all the women trying to get healthy or stay healthy while having a baby.

    Since Wednesday is our weigh in day:
    CW: 191.5
    Lost this week.........................3 lbs....................:happy: :happy: :happy:

    I think it is official. I finally broke my 6 week plateau!!!! I guess i just needed to complain to everyone I know, cry a little, and think about giving up for it to finally break!

    I hope you all had a great week as well

    BTW: We are planning on starting TTC in June.

    Tahmed - Congrats on the loss! Wahoo!

    So I'm not back to working out just yet - today I am wearing regular pants for the first time since the surgery, and back to work tomorrow. It turns out I got an infection, so everything has been super tender and swollen, but I'm feeling pretty great, and ready to be back at it!

    I've decided to take up jogging in a couple of weeks (once I'm all the way back to normal). I'm looking forward to it actually. I used to jog and really enjoyed it, so now I'm going to try again. I'll be taking it slow jog 3 x per week, regular working out the other 3) since I have chronic tendonitis in my left leg, but the jogging will help once I got stronger again. And with the nice weather, it's hard to stay inside.

    Does anyone else have work out plans for the outdoors this season?

    It's Wednesday! So, I have been watching my portions religiously and dropped two lbs this past week. That's a total of 9lbs so far I can't wait to reach 20lbs. I think if i add a little more exercise I can really see some progress. Birthday parties and holidays make it so difficult.

    Well I was down 2 pounds this week as of Monday and Tuesday but TOM is visiting so I'm back up one. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to get regulated because I took my last bc pill 4/2/10. WE ARE OFFICALLY TRYING! I am halfway to my goal but it feel so good to be healthy now. So does anyone know the average time for your body to start ovulating after a year on the pill? I know it can take a "normal" couple a year to conceive but I don't think that year starts until you have normal cycles. Anywho, Welcome to all the newby's I love this group they are so supportive and full of real life advice!

    After 2 weeks of maintaining this baby decided to grow and so I put on 2.5! Gesh! I'm sure eating sweets and big meals for Easter on both Saturday and Sunday did not help! Oh well. Half way done and half to go. Hopefully I only gain about 10 more lbs. That's ideal.

    Hi - I took my last pill on October 31st and got preggers on Dec 9th.....didn't take long at all. :) I was on the pill for about 10 years.

    I gave birth to my daughter seven weeks ago and this thread caught my eye. Wish I had seen this during my pregnancy! Any who, I went of my pill in October and got pregnant Dec. 31 with my son. With my daughter it only took 13 days to get pregnant after removing my IUD. Hope this helps!

    Tahmed – I think we will start TTC again in June (I want to double check something with my OB before we decide for sure) maybe we can race :laugh: Congrats on the loss too, awesome!!!

    Jalara - As for outdoor activities. I’m a HUGE walking, LOVE to walk. Walked my first half marathon last October and LOVED it. So I will probably be doing some of that this year too. Have you thought about doing the C25K or whatever it’s called?


    Erinm – thanks for the kind thoughts :flowerforyou: . I’m actually handling it much better this time then last time. I think knowing that I’m healthier than I’ve ever been (which helps and sucks at the same time, I'm much healthier yet this happens) and will be even healthier in a few months helps. I have somewhere else to direct my obsession to, which helps me too

    Pmaria – GREAT work on the 2 bls. Thank you for the well wishes also :flowerforyou: .

    Adegonia – That’s so exciting!!! My friend went off the pill and was knocked up like a week or two later (she's the one who can look at her husband and get pregnant :laugh: ). I think it just depends. I know most medications take about 2 weeks to kick in, so maybe two weeks??? I do recommend tracking your cycle. Makes it easier to know what’s going on and the best time to do the baby dance. I track mine on mymonthlycycle.com. It’s free and it’s nice to have that record and it's easy.

    Shoppingqueen - 10 lbs for the first half is amazing if you ask me!!! Even my weight watcher leader gained 40 lbs during hers and she has to stay thin to keep her job (of course her kid is 3 months old and she’s lost all but 10 of it). Keep up the good work!!!!

    Jen – Have you changed stuff up lately? Drinking all the water you need? I read your pre-e story and we were pretty close on weeks then. You are so lucky you didn’t end up with magnesium, I slept for DAYS on that stuff. Really don’t remember much of the first couple days of my daughter’s life. To top it off I couldn’t stay awake enough after the c-section to get moved out of recovery so I was there for 5 hours, without my daughter!

    I have a plan!! Oh wait, my weight this week was 197.5, I think I gained 2 lbs, but not sure. Does anyone track this anywhere or do we just do it to keep ourselves accountable? Back to my plan!!! Tahmed, you might be into doing this. I plan to lose 20 lbs by June 30th. Anyone in for a goal of June 30th? My daughters bday is June 29th and that will be around the time we start TTC again, so it worked out. I like having goals, they keep me going :wink: :laugh:

    Today I woke up with my 2nd period in two weeks (post surgery). And the pain is ridiculous! I talked to my doc and she assured me it's just body cleaning itself out after the surgery, but wow does it hurt! I was supposed to be back to work today, and had to let them know that I wouldn't be, which totally sucks. I have 2 people I report to - 1 is super understanding, the other is not. And I hate missing the work, and the $$.

    Kiffy - I've looked at the C25K, so I may use it as a guideline. I am really going a little nuts sitting around when the weather has taken such a pleasant turn. I think today I may use my lighter free weights just so I can engage my muscles.

    Also, I'm sorry to hear the news - it took me a little while to clue in. So sorry to hear!

    So for the TTC people - when are you all planning to start trying? We are planning for Christmas, since we're getting married at the end of August and want to let the dust settle a bit first. We're both super excited, and really trying to get ready in every way we can. When we were out shopping yesterday, I even picked up a copy of Fit Pregnancy (so exciting, although hiliarious when I also picked up some pads - lol).

    Adegonia - wahoo! Enjoy the trying!

    Now off to get my hot water bottle....
