Don't panic.
Looking at it logically, you have not gained 10lbs of fat, unless you ate 35,000 calories over your maintenance,
Assuming 2000 calories for maintenance you would have eaten 14000 + 35000 = 490000 calories over a week
7000 every day.
This did not happen, you have not gained 10lbs of fat in one week.
There may have been a change in routine, hormonal issue, increased sodium, many things can affect your water retention, but it will not be fat.0 -
What was said before. Couple of other things to look for when talking about different weights.
1) Did you weigh yourself on different scales. I know my home scale and the scale at the gym are different by about 3 lbs.
2) Did you weigh yourself at the same time of day. You can weigh much different from morning throughout the day. For myself it can be as much as 3 - 5 lbs.
3) Did you weigh yourself with the same cloths or lack of cloths on. Cloths\shoes can weigh 3-10 lbs depending on what it is.
If you put all of these things togethor in a perfect storm I could have a 10 lb difference but have my body weight not actually change.0 -

I agree. Don't panic. Think about your week and what did you do differently? Up your water to flush out excess sodium and go back to your normal eating routine. Don't drop calories, just eat normally.0 -

It's probably just water retention. I cannot imagine you actually ate enough to gain 10 lbs in one week. If your weight continues to go up over the next week, see a doctor. One of the most obvious signs of thyroid problem and/or other medical issues is extremely rapid weight gain.0
