So I started loosing weight about 6 weeks ago...it was accidental at first. I moved to Canada few months ago, and I've been snowboarding every weekend. After a few weeks I noticed that my snowboarding gear was a little looser. Deciding to ride the crest of the wave, I started running and being careful with my food during the week (I let up a little at weekends). Now most of of my clothes are loose on me and my belt has gone down two notches! However I don't (yet) own bathroom scales, and I'm kind of scared to invest because...
I have been trying to shift weight my whole life, like literally since I can remember. I have tried every mainstream or fad diet you can think of, I've used diet pills and I've even talked about surgery with a consultant. It's been an obssession for a long time, and this comes hand in hand with being obssessed with that little number on the scale! My sensible head knows that a 1lb fluctuation here and there from day to day means nothing in the bigger picture, but my crazy head knows that surely I've failed yet again and what's the point in even trying?
Has anyone managed to complete one huge NSV? Or is tracking the numbers the best way to go?
TL;DR: don't own scales, want to track my progress but worried I'll become obessesed with the number and become demotivated.
Stats (cause everyone loves some stats!):
Height: 5'7"
SW: around 200lbs
CW: no idea - I'd guess at 190lbs
GW: around 140lbs
Smallest I have been: 183lbs
