I have been struggling with my weight for 2 years. I desperately need something for few weeks to jumpstart my weightloss. Winter made me gain weight due to being sedantary. I recently saw Bob harper's 8 week transformation. I am so down that I need help. Can someone here give me some constructive real advice to start this weightloss journey.

Eat less/move more. It's not complicated.0

I think at my age my metabolism has slowed considerably. I donot overeat ,yes my motivation to move has dropped significantly.0

metabolism is controlled by your lean body mass - less LBM = lower metabolism. The only way to increase it is to increase LBM by heavy lifting.
As for your quick start question, I had to do the same thing or I would have given up (as I had for 30 years before I started this time). I went Atkins induction for a month - dropped 15 pounds and was able to readjust to calories in/calories out and have some patience with the number.
I have a friend who eats every day of his life like the Atkins approach and it makes him happy. I had to switch out of it because I need to be able to eat those things in life so I had to teach myself moderation instead of complete restriction. Best of luck to you!0 -
I know it's really hard making that first step- after Christmas I decided once and for all that enough was enough. My advice would be avoid anything that will take your money, offering you a 'miracle cure'. Instead take small steps to change your lifestyle. Eat meals- don't snack (if you are really hungry between meals eat some fruit). I have found using MFP really helpful in tracking my calories, exercise ect and when I achieve my targets at the end of the day and then the end of the week it makes me feel better that a bar of chocolate ever could!
It's true- eat less, move more. But see it as treating your body kindly, not punishing it.
Good luck!0
