I have been "living" South Beach for years. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away. As far as recipes, pretty much everything can be adapted to fit South Beach. For some ideas http://www.kalynskitchen.com/ is a great resource.

My mom's "bad" Cholesterol was lowered not by diet but by eating 1 chopped up garlic clove w/ 1 tsp or more of extra virgin olive oil on an empty stomach. Down it with lots of warm water or tea. You can't tell my mom to not eat certain types of foods - her diet is already as healthy as it can be. On her side of the family, everyone has the genetic type of High Cholesterol.

I forgot to mention that her Cholesterol went from 267 to 220.. her doctor was shocked and asked her what she did. When she said what I wrote above, the doctor said she's heard a lot of patients tell her this helps them. But, she can't tell her patients this because it's not been "scientifically proven"!
