I had it and absolutely loved it but unfortunately my Wii died and my kids wanted a Xbox 360 instead of a new Wii.

I have it. It's okay. I prefer the Zumba for the Wii.

Have it, love it, love the other games that can use it.

Most of the Wii fit exercises are not all that challenging, but by careful selection you can burn quite a few calories. During the winter, I will also pull it out for a few minutes just to warm up. Seeing my Mii dressed up as a penguin even warms my heart!

There are a bunch of other Wii fitness games which are labelled as compatible with the balance board, but you can set to work without it, like EA Active.

As for the money, check GameStop or similar stores for used. Just make sure you get the Wii fit plus software, as it has more challenging games than the original.

If you already have the wii. If you have places that sell the wii board and game you can get it for under 40 probably. I like it but don't actually work out much cause I don't care for others watching me. I like having the scale though cause I don't have one otherwise.

Wii Fit is more of a game than a workout but you can get lots of workout "games" for the Wii that are good. EA Sports Active 2 is great, Gold's Gym Cardio is good.

It's not a massive serious calorie burn but it is fun, and rewarding - lots of positive feedback which I enjoy

I like it b/c here In Ohio its freezing right now, so I can work out at home(I don't use a gym), until I can walk/bike/run outside again. I like the yoga a lot too. It's a good easy workout...you're probably not going to burn the same amount of calories you would on an elliptical or something, but it gives you good variety and games, that for me at least, are more fun than being stuck on a piece of equipment for an hour.
Whether or not its worth your money, depends on what type of workout you're looking for!

I am only doing this for 2wks but right now a big part of my exercise routine is using our Wii Fit Plus. I have a 35min routine put together using my fav activities & I just mix them up. I use Adv Step (3x), Rhythm Boxing(3x), King Fu(3x), Basic Run(1x) & Basic Step(1x). I put them in an order to allow me to build up, then use the kung fu as a cool down in the middle then build up again & cool down. I burn 287 cal doing this (calories burned will depend on your weight obv). Then about an hour later I do 17mins on Elliptical (brand new user trying to work my way up to 20-25mins). I enjoy using the Wii Fit Plus. It was a great start for someone like me who is still getting use to exercising. Eventually I will prob only do it a little or just maybe the Adv Step & Rhythm Boxing as those are my fav but not until I can increase my Ellip time.

You should incorporate some the yoga and strength exercises on your Wii - better balance and a strong core will serve you well on the elliptical!

Besides, everyone knows that marching band is the best warm up

I did Wii Fit when I first started my weight loss..paired with eating healthy i lost 30lbs... There are alot of other fun games you can do too... Wii has Zumba which is also pretty fun..
I think it does depend where your starting and if your currently pretty active it may not really challenge you as much.... there are calories to be burned definitely but it may just be a bit too "easy"....

    Good Luck!!!

I agree with others who've said it all depends on where you are right now.

A while back I could work up a good sweat and burn a lot of calories playing Wii Tennis, but now it doesn't get my heart rate up high enough. That's good news because it means my heart health has improved! The Wii was instrumental in getting me back to moving and building my stamina after knee replacement surgery, and I still use it if I decide not to go to the gym for some reason. I have the platform that raises the Fit Board up another 5 inches or so and that makes me work harder so it was a good investment for me.

On a funny note - I adopted a 7-yr old cat who'd been a shelter for 3 years. He normally has kind of a concerned look on his face, and when I started doing the Wii I could just imagine him thinking "Am I gonna have to look for a new place to live?" Now, he's used to me playing tennis or whatever, and the look on his face is more "...Really?...Again?" It makes me laugh!

I visited my parents and tried their Wii fit...it was kinda fun but I got bored with it. The worst part was when I created my personal avatar...I picked out the gender, hairstyle, facial type etc so it looked a bit like me, and then I entered my height and weight and it expanded like a balloon into a fat avatar. :grumble:

I can get a decent workout in doing repeated Rhythm Boxing, Advanced Step, or Super Hula Hoop plus some yoga and strength training. However, I don't like that A. it shames you if you don't use it every day (I use my treadmill more often), B. it shames you if you gain weight and C. the fact that it says "oof" when I step on, blows me up into Fat Avatar and tells me I'm obese every single time I get on the darn thing (like I didn't already know).

That's exactly why I really don't use it! LOL. I found the "exercises" to be a joke and completely boring, so I just use it now to weigh myself. I'll stick with the EA Active.
