My bf last night decided "I want ice cream" and we headed off to the supermarket. We ended up buying other food items, nothing serious just the basics (bread, juice, cheese and milk) just then he sees a blueberry pie... and picks it up... and then an apple pie... and picks it up.. to go alond with the HALF GALLON of ice cream that he decided to get. We get back to the house and he serves himself some pie TWICE. His parent's whom are visiting at the moment have some as well. BUT I WALKED AWAY! If that isn't determination idk what is.. I love all that jazz but I love my *kitten* better and don't want to fall back into old habits. I'm not sure if it's just me that is having a hard time with family not understanding that I want to start eating better, but sometimes it just sucks that their attitude is so wack.

First off, Congrats for not eating any of that. Secondly, sometimes it will take your friends and family a while to come around with your new life style change. Sometimes they think your just in a phase and you'll only do it for a while then bounce back into old habits. Thats how my boyfriend was, cause thats exactly what I did awhile ago. I lost 30lbs before then things got rough and gained it back plus more then I got pregnant. My boyfriend told me last week that he was proud of me for sticking to it this time and now he understands more about what a healthy life style is. But is he on the same page as me, no. He doesn't eat healthy or exercise so I have non healthy foods in my house all the time. But I keep myself going and staying strong. Just avoid as much bad food that you can, keep pushing it away and hoepfully they will come around and start noticing that your for real about this. I know you want their support to keep you going, but just think of it this away. Your the only one that can give yourself all the support you need. Your the one that has to make the change for yourself. If you fail, thats ok, were humans, just get back up and dust it off. Keep fruits and veggies around you for when something like this happens again. Look for recipes online, explore the kitchen with cooking! Theres so many options you have with turning a non healthy dish into a healthy dish. Good luck to you and hopefully your family and his comes around and starts accepting your new life style change!0

That is awesome! It can be tough. I live with my mom, dad, and sister who all eat like the worst foods all the time! my sister ws on the couch eating ice cream and my mom was making cinniman rolls when I walked in the other day. They both said, "I'm sorry." I replaied " It's ok." Made myself some chocolate milk, and was fine. I really don't WANT any of it, when I do, I will have a taste. I just remind myself how awesome I am going to look soon enough ( as you probably already do.) That is much more gratifying!0

I am very proud of you!
As to your family, your story doesn't say that they were bugging you about your choices, they just chose to indulge - there isn't anything wrong with that, it is their prerogative and you shouldn't build up resentment over it. You shouldn't assume they don't accept your choices, they are just your choices, not theirs.0 -
Congrats!!! You did it!!! The first time my family came to visit during my weight loss, I at my normal foods and served them what they like. At first then looked at me strangely but... after a few days of me NOT giving in, they left me alone.
Nothing tastes as good as feeling thin!!!
Thanks for motivating me!!0 -

Eh bug me they do not about it, they just give me the "is that all you're going to eat?" face. They don't seem to realize that you can serve yourself smaller portions and still have a good meal.0
