Pre workout snack

I need some ideas for pre workout food. Tomorrow is the first day I am going to the gym after work. I work 7-1 straight through and don't really have time to eat intil I leave at one. What would give me energy, not be too heavy but fill my belly a little. I am hoping to get a decent workout in. I'm thinking hard boiled egg, string cheese, luna bar (not all together)....not sure if any of these are good! Thanks for any ideas!

    I eat a granola bar or fruit. Something so I don't feel hungry, but also not weighed down
  • I generally try and eat a light carb (half a granola bar, rice cake etc) before I go for energy, but not so much that it gives me a stitch. Then when I am done I try and have some protein to help me rebuild a little after the workout - maybe a string cheese or some ham or something with the other half of the granola bar. Works for me!:)
  • a pre- workout smoothie

    half a cup of nonfat yogurt

    half a cup of liquid egg whites

    half a cup of orange juice

    one or two handfuls of frozen fruit ( I prefer Strawberries and blueberries but use whatever fruits you like)

    mix it all in a blender and enjoy
