Sugar and Food Addict Starting Detox

Hello, my name is Kayla and I'm 22 years old. I've had a pretty serious addiction to food (particularly sugars) for the past few years. I've decided to make a drastic change in diet and hopefully exercise once my energy levels come back up. I started eating mostly fruits, vegetables, nuts, and lean meats yesterday and I'm already feeling the effects from it. Has anyone else had this problem? Did you change your diet and how long did it take for withdrawal symptoms to subside. Just looking for as much information as I can. Thanks guys!

    Hi
Detox for me took about 2 weeks - from feeling like " I have to have it NOW" to "I made it throught the day" and "this isn't so bad afterall" It's about 30 days for me and I am comfortable walking right through the cookie isle in the supermarket or anywhere else, and actually prefer yogurts and oatmeal to muffins and donuts for breakfast. We all have different time frames to adjusting to a new eating habit, so if you feel the need to eat a donut eat half, it's ok. Just don't do it everyday, make sure you are at the gym to warrant yourself eating it.
