So far so good

Oct 25th, I had a dr appt and stepped on the scale. I don't even remember what the appt was for, but I remember the scale said 306. OMG. That night I bought a scale and started my journey. I told some key friends. Found MFP on my phone and off I went. I started losing some weight and told my dad who was in Texas. The Thursday before Christmas, my Dad went in the hospital yet again, but it was the same old reasons. On that Saturday, my Dad called me and told me he had to talk to me. He said not to use him being in the hospital as an excuse, to stick with my plan, keep doing what I was doing and that he was proud of me. I told him that I was sticking with it. Late Christmas day, my Dad passed away from a sudden heart attack. Off to Texas I flew with my daughter to bring my brother who is mentally handicapped and my son home from Texas. The drive back to Minnesota was long, but I stuck with my plan. My world has been turned upside down. I went from living by myself to having my brother with me and my son watching him while I am at work. But here it is, the end of February. I went to the Dr on Thur for my physical. 266. That's right 40 pounds less. (by the way, dr scale and mine are 6 pounds different, but that is besides the point) I write this because I firmly believe if I can do this, any one can.
I was told early on to set a goal. I set to lose 80 pound by Aug. I was then told to picture myself with that 80 pound weight lose, what would I do that I couldn't do now. Then to write it down. That list has helped me. I can see myself going on walks, going to classic car shows. Being active.
I believe that everyone has the strength to do this. You just have to look into yourself and find what your motivation is. I can not begin to tell you how the support of MFP has helped me. When I get down about what is going on in my life, MFP friends support me and uplift me. Once I hit my goal, I will probably go for another 80.
Feel free to add me and I will do my best to support you as others have supported me.
