under the weather and not hungry

Okay so this past few weeks I have been coming under my caloric goal not on purpose. My children have been very sick, I had finals, and stress was up really high and I was busy. Then I crashed and had 6 pieces of pizza the other night. (Two days ago?) Anyway, today I feel like crap. Sinus pressure, snot, coughing, nausea, fever the whole shabang.

I have roughly 700 odd calories still to eat and all I want is ice cold water or hot water. Watching my children eat their chicken and rice made me so incredibly grossed out and that is my favorite meal!

I ate one of my kids bagels as they have like 280 calories in one and smeared some light cream cheese on it and forced it down, but that was hours ago.

My question is, is being 300-400 under my calorie goal of 1480 for a few weeks really bad, or can I not stress about it, and just pick up the eating better when I feel better.

I love food, so this isn't a normal problem. I am really truly enjoying learning to cook new healthy foods, so don't think this is a habit of mine. I was seriously considering drinking my calories today in juice and meal replacement shakes but everything makes me want to vomit except water.

I do have a doctor appointment in two days to 1. figure out what illness has attacked me 2. have the yearly blood work done so I will have this conversation likely again with my doc.

  • I wouldn't stress about it too much., When we are sick we often cannot eat as much as we would healthy. Don't sweat the small stuff. Make sure you get your fluids first. That's most important. Food is secondary when sick. Get those fluids. That will also help to metabolize what you ARE able to eat. If I can help, please message me. I think you're going to be fine if you are under your caloric intake while so much is going on. Try to relax, and just let things flow. You have a lot going on. It's enough to stress anyone out. You can do this. Hope you feel much better, very soon!!!
