What do you do with Nappa Cabbage
Yesterday while watching Trisha Yearwood on the Food Network she made this wonderful looking salad with nappa cabbage, purple cabbage, onions, cucumber and endamine oops didn't spell that right, with a cilantro dressing. Anyways, it looked so good I printed off the recipe and got all the stuff to make it. I made the dressing and plugged it into our site, turns out the dressing has 273 calories in 2T hmmmm NOT going to eat that. So, what do you think .....would you make the salad and top it with a vinaigrette? Or, anyone got any other ideas what to do with a nappa cabbage, I don't want to end up throwing it away.
Thanks
Thanks

YES! Make a different vinaigrette!! Plus I find if it has red onion in the salad or some kind of marinated meat its already lavored well!0 -
Use it like cabbage... I do various cole slaws, not sure about cals, but use mayo and yogurt, probably cuts the fat in half. I like making it on the sweeter side, so might add apples, carrots, raisins, oranges, orange juice and/or walnuts.0

Make a Kimshee style salad and serve it on some baked fish tacos.

Definitely go ahead and make the salad and change up the dressing. If you want something "asian" you could try:
-toasted sesame oil
-apple juice
-apple cider vinegar
-bit of sugar (or agave nectar, honey, stevia, etc)
-salt
-pepper
Or you could just try making napa cabbage rolls (stuffing them with ground pork or turkey and veg and either eating it that way or baking it to soften the cabbage).
Napa is also great in soup.0 -
Thanks Guys
Have a great week0
