    Adding one more: anyone who ever said running was better than walking. I burn more calories walking up steep inclines than I do running on flat surfaces and don't damage my joints nearly as much.

    True story for me too.

    I was told that because I was big boned that I will never be slim. I am medium boned like my sister and now I'm about 1 size bigger then her.

    "It's genetic." I even believed this for a while. That I'd never get fit because I come from a heavier family. Yeah right! Now that family keeps telling me, "I wish I could lose weight like that," yet they never take my advice.
