How does strenght log work?

I want to add the weight lifting at the gym, so I am guessing I need the type, weight, sets and reps. But when I added say the leg extensions I didn't see any calories burned on MFP next to it, or any changes under my diary .... I also have my activity under my goals as sedentary and exercise goals as 0 so I can just log everything myself.
what am I missing? Or does this work/count differently ?

Go to cardio and log strength training....it will ask for number of mins and give you calories burned.0
