VENTING!
Ok so thanks to the lovely economy my dad has been out of work for about 10 months. In Mass. You are required to have health insurance when you file your taxes... SO my dad pays between $600 and $700 a MONTH for he, my mother, and my brother to have insurance. Now they have the IRS calling them telling them they owe $1000 per PERSON on the plan... ($3000 total) because they don't have insurance through on of the "approved companies"
Neither my parents tax accountant or unemployment were aware that you needed to use an approved company. All were under the impression that as long as you had insurance that you were all set....
How unfair?! I'm just feeling really bad for them right now because like i said they are unemployed... how are they going to afford that?!

How exactly is the IRS governing STATE law? Isn't the IRS strictly federal?
Is this what you're talking about?

Well, Mike says no political speech so I will not reply with my opinion.
However, I can say this much: That stinks to high heaven.0 -
I'm sorry for your parents! That totally sucks. Hopefully you'll get it figured out. They'll be in our prayers!0
