My husband and I are *thinking* about moving to that area in the next 2 years (towards the end of the 2 year period...wanting to put our home on the market next Spring). It will put him a lot closer to his work and it looks like an excellent place
I don't really want to be in a neighborhood UNLESS it has fairly good sized lots.
Help?

I lived there for two years and I work there now. Unfortunately, when I lived there, I was in an apartment, so I don't know how much help I can be. I like the area and would have considered moving here if my girlfriend's work wasn't so far south.0

Now I do not live there I have only visited, but my best friend lives there and she lived in an apartment and now has a house. I know parts of it the houses are very close together. Like looking out your bedroom window and being able to talk to your neighbor from their window close and for me I can't stand that. She found an area that is fairly large and not close together not sure how much space you are looking for, but it is also out of the way from a lot of shopping centers which I like and she is still close enough to know your neighbors, but not be on top of each other.0

I don't think there is much of kennesaw left that isn't neighborhoods. Between the school and shopping centers, there isn't much land left. If you get benefits from being a little west of there, you would be more likely to find houses on individual lots, but the you have to deal with sceptic tanks.0

I grew up in Cartersville, about 17 miles north of Kennesaw on I-75. It is close enough to get to the hustle and bustle of the Atlanta area but still retains a smaller town feel (although it is nowhere near as small as it was when I lived there in the 70's-80's.) All in all, it is much nicer, in my opinion. I would try there before Kennesaw.0

Thanks! I will look into that
Thanks for all the opinions, guys! We currently live in Newnan but it is getting to be a bit much and about a hour without traffic for my husband. He works in Austell (which I hate...it is so bad up there!!).0 -
I live on the outskirts of Kennesaw. Pretty much in the corner where Acworth, Kennesaw, and Marietta meet. It's a great area. Kennesaw and Acworth have both been family oriented the entire time we've lived here. There are older neighborhoods, like mine that have larger yards and no home owners association, granted it doesn't have tennis and swim, but a lot of my friends do so that isn't such a big deal. My husband and I own a chiropractic office in Acworth and it's the perfect place to shop.
There is a busier section of Kennesaw near the mall and where lots of restaurants are located, but on my side of Kennesaw and Acworth it's a good mix of things without being too much. Also the City of Kennesaw has just built an awesome skate park and is always doing the next thing for family health and wellness. I love it here!0 -
Look to Paulding County for larger lots. Just west of Kennesaw.0
