I'm here for food journaling, calorie counting and exercise tracking.
I started on Valentine's Day after seeing my weight at doctor's appointment.
I am glad to find this myfitnesspal.com so I can have clarity about my goals - I'm planning to lose 55 lbs which would put me at a healthy bmi (22.4) I'm at a 31 BMI right now. I am planning to weigh myself weekly.
What else? I'm on insulin (Type 1 DM) so with everything I do, my disease must come first by default - i am on an insulin pump.
I am very happy to find this place and find you guys. I am unafraid to do whatever it takes to get to where I want to be. I battle depression and anxiety, so I tend to avoid negativity because I can't have that millstone around my neck. I love to get on the treadmill and challenge myself. I am an optimist! I paint portraits of pets for a living! For some reason my profile says i'm 36, but I turned 37 a few weeks ago. so ... Hi!

Hi hi again! I just wanted to tell you that I have had issues with anxiety and depression and have found exercise is really key for staying on top of it - now that I'm watching my calories and exercising regularly - I'm feeling much much better overall. I hope this will be the same for you - I have read a lot of articles on depression - and Dr. Andrew Weil who I think very highly of - has said in many of his articles on the subject that exercise is #1 reliever of symptoms of depression....

I also take 5HTP and SamE (both available at Costco) - on the advice of my Internist who practices Functional Medicine - a "whole-body" approach to medicine - she uses conventional treatments but will advocate and supports the use of natural remedies as well.

Best of luck and keep up the great work!

    Aloha!
