Month of CrossFit (before & after pic)

Today's my one month anniversary since I first walked into my local CrossFit box. I spent over a year knowing the place existed and watching friends get great results, but I was always so intimidated by the place and felt like I wasn't in good enough shape to work out there to begin with.
After just 30 days, I'm astonished by my results so far and can't wait to keep going. I feel so much stronger, healthier and fit already, and I know it's just the beginning as long as I keep it up. I even felt confident enough to post a before and after picture on my profile for the first time ever!!
I saw this quote on Pinterest - "Does your workout make you nervous? It should" - and this is so true with CrossFit. I'm so glad I found the community and it's totally changing the way I think about everything from skipping happy hours to waking up at 4:45 AM to go before work (something I'd NEVER do before). Anyway, I just had to share my love for CrossFit since it's had such an impact on me this month and I want to encourage others to try it out rather than being intimidated by it like I was...

While Crossfit might work for some people, I would not recommend it. Crossfit is a much more extreme workout than most people need or want, and has a high record of workout related injuries.
Before anyone reading these posts decides to join Crossfit, please take a few minutes to check out this article from the NY Times
"Getting Fit, Even If It Kills You"
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/22/fashion/thursdaystyles/22Fitness.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
"Mr. Glassman, CrossFit's founder, does not discount his regimen's risks, even to those who are in shape and take the time to warm up their bodies before a session.
"It can kill you," he said. "I've always been completely honest about that."0 -

It is NOT hate to inform people about a dangerous fitness craze that is pushing people beyond safe limits.

Whatever you might think of my opinion of Crossfit, it is against the MFP rules to call someone ignorant.
Crossfit's brutal workouts push participants to the point that they can easily become injured. And it isn't just MY opinion -- they are KNOWN for making their workouts unnecessarily extreme.0 -
very nice results. you are really getting fitter. way to work.0

It's hate if you blast every.single.crossfit.thread.know.to.man. Crossfit is not "extreme". I just finished been pregnant every year for the past 4 years. My *kitten* is weak. I take breaks during the WOD when I need to, get sips of water, a few extra breathes, etc. Have you ever been to a CF box? Have you ever tried it? Scratch that.. your mind is made up on hating it. Which is fine, but let others have their pride and joy in the amazing goals they accomplish. Thats all I'm going to say though because I dont want this thread to ugly.0
