30DS and Tae Bo routine question

Hey everyone! I have been STRUGGLING these past several months finding a consistent satisfying, result-yielding routine to do in my apartment gym, so I decided to do what I did the last time I shed a significant amount of wait - Tae Bo!
So, I bought "This Is Tae Bo" from Target today and did it tonight - sweat like CRAZY for 50 minutes straight. Because of all of the reviews I read here, I also bought "Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred." Looks like it will be a great plan as well.
I'm asking for any suggestions on how to alternate these workouts. I understand the 30DS has multiple levels, so i will obviously start with level 1 tomorrow. But, how many times a week do I do 30DS? When do I know it's time to move to Level 2? After 10 days?
Also, since the Tae Bo video is only 1 workout, I'm planning to just alternate the two videos during the week (4 days of 30 DS, 2 days of Tae Bo).
What do you guys think? My goal is a 40-50 lb weight loss and I'm starting at square 1, so any advice would be much appreciated.
Much Love!

I don't know anything about Tae Bo or alternating them, but with the 30DS and moving up I think you'll know when you're ready. I'm on Level one day five and I can already feel stronger. I think the idea is 10 days on each level but I wouldn't move up until you are ready, and that could be before the 10 days, or after it.0

You're like my kindred diet spirit! I have been alternating This is Tae Bo with 30 Day Shred for the last week and a half. Before that, I was just doing Tae Bo. I do Tae Bo on days when I have the time to go for a whole hour, but I try for two or three days of that (it burns more calories so I like it better).
And I am on Day 5 of Level 1 on 30 Day Shred (I do it and follow it with Yoga Booty Ballet: Goddess Booty for more more calorie burn). When I started, I used 8lb weights, but I couldn't walk normally after that and I nearly cried doing Tae Bo the next morning (I couldn't do the knee ups to save my life!). I lowered to 5 lb weights and noticed that while I was still sore, at least I could function normally.
Also, I've been taking the weekends to recover because I've been absurdly sore by Fridays. Eventually, I hope to move to just one rest day on Saturday.
I'm feeling tighter through my core and I think my arms are smaller. My legs definitely feel stronger (the stairs at work are way easier). I haven't lost a single pound though; in fact, when I first started I put on four pounds. You might also incorporate yoga one day a week to detox your muscles and stretch them out. When you first start a hard workout, your muscles might store more water for repair and that will show up on the scale. Don't worry about that if you are feeling stronger.
Anyway, I'm interested how you eat back your calorie burn and what kind of results you get and what pattern ends up working best for you. I'd love to be friends on here, if you don't mind, for workout support!0 -
I am a fan of both of those workouts.
A simple fix, is to do the 30DS routine, and then do Tae-Bo instead of the cardio.
Edit: It seems like your already doing that. However, there are a ton of Tae-bo variations. Try to find a couple of them to vary the workout.0
