.. Yup... I was just asked to be a Matron of Honor for hubbz little sisters wedding... little ol' me:blushing:
This is the very first time that I will be in a wedding and I am sooooo nervous. They want a Winter wedding (:grumble: ).. the dresses will be red... we get to pick the style of our dress but they have to be red. I am soooo excited!!! My little girls are the flowers girls. The wedding will be held in Philladelphia. They got engaged just yesterday so she is on cloud 9....

I don't want to be the one to give the speech... I will not be able to get through it b/c I'll be balling my eyes out. What is the MOH's job????? I'm freakin' out people!!

 breathe... I don't know what you have to do, but I think maybe champagne will be involved, so it's all good.

you'll be expected to give a speech, but you'll also be expected to cry. when my sister got married, me and all the other brides maids cried from the moment we walked down the aisle. it was pathetic, but very sweet:blushing:

i bet you'll look pretty hot in that red dress:love:

Oh boy..... I'm not good at speeches:sad:
She told me that I didn't have to so I'm ok... for now.. until the guilt eats away at me and I'll give in.
Now I have even more motivation to get toned... yay! :ohwell:

too bad you don't drink... enough liquid courage and you'd be speeching up a storm in no time:wink:

seriously though, i have severe stage fright, and yet somehow manage to bellydance in front large crowds. practice helps calm the nerves, and remembering that everyone is there to have a good time. especially at weddings! have fun either way:flowerforyou:

It'll be ok....You're not giving a speech about something that's boring the crowd. And it's not like you have to memorize things. You just have to get up there and talk about the people you love. :flowerforyou: You can pcik a good memory to start with, or how they've affected each others' lives. You'll be fine and just don't upstage the bride in the hot red dress

You don't HAVE to give a speech, but a few nice words would be nice. Matron of Honor essenttially does everything for the bride. If a stag and Doe is in the plans, It is your job to help organize it (with the Best man's help) Also, you will be helping the bride make important decisions about wedding decor, dresses, foods, music, etc. She'll have tons to be thinking about and you are the largest portion of her supposrt system. It's a great honour to be asked, congrats! And you'll do great!

    Thanks guys!!
I know how much planning goes into planning a wedding.. I practically planned mine by myself.. in 3 months & with a 6 month old!!.. Till this day I don't know why I was such in a rush.. Anywho....

I'm will be helping the bride but will have to be over the phone, emails, text...she's in Philly and I'm in Upstate NY. I will try my bestest to be there for her. I know how stressful it can get. I'll build up some courage and start on my speech or I just might "wing it" when the day comes... OR... hubbz, my 2 girls and I can do something together.. yeah... that's it!!! Words for meeee!

I'm going to start looking for a red dress.
    Thanks MFPers!!!
