Combining Low intensity and HIIT

I was wondering if it is a bad idea to combine Hiit and normal, long, cardio.

Inquisitive minds, who can't find two answers that agree on Google, wishes to know.

    That is what I do. I do 2 days of HIIT weekly, with 1 hour of regular cardio 4 days a week. There are differing opinons all over. One thing that I do see fairly consistently is to not do hiit on weight days, So since I lift 3 days a week I do the regular cardo on those days.
