TDEE question

I calculated my TDEE on some website and it came back 2842. MFP says I should eat 1500/day. I am NOT sure how much I am supposed to eat now! It also said my bmr is 1841. What does that even mean? I am SO confused and frustrated. I just want to lose weight and honestly make a real lifestyle change. Does ANYONE out there know how to interpret these numbers? Are you using them? Can you friend me so I can get an idea of how they apply to mfp?? Thanks.

Your BMR is your basal metabolic rate - the amount of calories your body burns if you stayed in bed all day long, doing no activity, basically coma calories.
Your TDEE is your total daily energy expenditure - the amount of calories your body burns through daily activity, walling, shopping, working, brushing your teeth, folding laundry, etc. This is figured based on your BMR and whatever activity level you select in the calculation process (sedentary, lightly active, etc).
For me, I've found it best to eat in between these two numbers. I'm not in a coma, so I want to eat more than my BMR calories every day. And I want to lose fat, so I need to eat less than my TDEE number. Make sense?
Hope that helps!0 -
